Research Instruments

The table below lists the assessment instruments we’ve designed and used for research purposes:

  • General assessments examine subjects’ attitudes toward science and engineering and knowledge of general engineering concepts and technology.
  • Unit-specific instruments measure the science and engineering topics covered in a particular EiE curriculum unit.

All have been tested for validity and reliability. Answer keys are included.

You many use or adapt these materials; however please cite Engineering is Elementary as the source of this content in any published material. If you are interested in student assessments designed for classroom evaluations (rather than research), both formative and summative instruments are available on the Resources page or the EiE curriculum student assessment page.

This page is constantly updated as we develop and revise assessments.
