A contract competitively awarded by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) through project management partner IBSS Corporation is bringing the Museum of Science, Boston's Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®) to teachers and students on military bases across the United States.

 Educational research and curriculum development practices from the Engineering is  Elementary project will be readily available to teachers and other educators this  year. Two new books for science and engineering educators include chapters by EiE  authors describing curricula developed by the project.

EiE's extensive online library of short videos for educators just got bigger and better with the addition of “Spotlight Videos.” The six documentary-style videos explain and demonstrate effective classroom practices.

A grant from Oracle is helping Silicon Valley educators meet the Next Generation Science Standards by using EiE in their classrooms. The grant enabled 40 teachers to attend EiE professional development workshops this summer at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose.

Cambridge, England (October 2, 2014) — The International Society for Design and Development in Education has awarded the 2014 ISDDE Prize (also called the “Eddy”) to Dr. Christine Cunningham, a vice president at the Museum of Science, Boston and the team of curriculum developers who worked with her to create the Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®) curriculum. The prize, which is given for “for excellence in design for education in science or mathematics” and includes a $10,000 award, was presented to Dr.
