EiE founder and director Christine Cunningham was a keynote speaker at the 5th annual California STEM Summit, held Mar. 16 - 17, 2015 in Los Angeles. With a theme of "Unleashing Curiosity Through STEM," the event aimed to showcase new strategies and opportunities for engaging students, parents, and educators in STEM education; it was hosted by the California STEM Learning Network, an organization that coordinates a statewide network of STEM stakeholders with the stated goal of "helping California prepare the nation's most STEM-capable graduates."

"California was an early adopter of the Next Generation Science Standards, and a state implementation plan is already in place," notes Cunningham. "We're pleased to be working with a number of California districts already, through the Raytheon scholarships program, which supports individual teachers and entire districts, through an Oracle grant program, and through our professional development collaborator, WestEd." A number of state universities also use EiE in programs for preservice teachers.
